Karachi —An Indonesian Culture Show was organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi . A statement on Sunday said that the show was held as part of annual Travel Festival entitled ‘Around the world in seven days’.
Speaking on the occasion, the Consul General Indonesia in Karachi, Rossalis R. Adenan, said that that Pakistan and Indonesia have long lasting brotherly relations. He highlighted several similarities between the two countries including Muslim majority in population. Adenan also shed light on various features of Indonesia and told the audience that besides several beautiful Islands and locations, Indonesia has three time zones.
He said ‘We want to encourage people to people contact between the two countries, besides providing them opportunities to explore each others’ countries”. Adenan said that in his viewpoint both of countries have huge potential to further cement their ties and enhance economic relations.. Ms. Mertia Yenni of the Indonesian Consulate also called for exchange of cultural delegations between the two countries.
Later Indonesian children presented their traditional dances including Piring dance from West Sumatra, Blanket dance from Jakarta and Badindin dance from West Sumatra. —APP
