Cholistan culture

Bahawalpur—Cholistan culture will always stay alive despite all the hardships, said Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Monday. Addressing the 14th Cholistan Awards Ceremony at Main Auditorium of Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) he said our ancestors had always urged us to honor our culture and now youth had to take care of that culture.

The Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, on the occasion, said good deeds were remembered forever and we must do as many good things as we could. Director Cholistan Development Council Farooq Ahmad Khan welcomed guests and paid gratitude. On the occasion, 20 persons were given regular and five were given special awards.

The awards for Saudi and Turkish Ambassadors to Pakistan were received by their representatives. Executive Director Higher Education Commission Dr. Sohail H Naqvi, Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ch. Zaka Ashraf and Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar were also given Cholistan Awards. Meanwhile it was reported from federal Capital Islamabad some days bach that the Cholistani nomadic artists set the cultural horizon of the federal capital ablaze with their sterling performance in an exclusive cultural programme “Cholistan Cultural Evening” at the auditorium of HEC.

This cultural event was organized by Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences,IUCPSS in collaboration with Higher Education Commission Pakistan, said a press releas. IUCPSS is county s’ first ever inter university established by eight leading public sector higher education institutes to undertake collaborative efforts to strengthen social sciences, arts and humanities. The Vice Chancellors, academicians, HEC officials and personalities belonging to various walks of life attended the cultural evening .
